Itinerary

Start your class with a short overview of Tunisian food and to understand any particular last minute requests or preferences. Then continue on to visit the food and spice markets before returning to cook. The classes offer hands on instruction. The idea is for you to actually make the food in close contact with a traditional Tunisian woman cook.

The approach is to prepare the components of a meal, usually consisting of several salads and a main course or two. You can vary this format infinitely to cater to tastes or specific interest areas, and your instructors are happy to teach you any Tunisian recipe. Because the classes are private, you have complete flexibility to adapt to anything you might want to do, but also to go at the right pace, covering what you would like to cover.

I’ve never done a home cooking class before this and it was well worth it! They take you through the whole process of shopping in the market and prepping amazing tea and food! Well worth it for anyone who wants to bring the Tunisian Tajine cooking experience home to family and friends.

It was a very personalized and unique experience on ny firat day in tunis. Houda took me to the local monorprix supermarket to pick a fish and vegetables for the couscous. Then we drove to the suburban apartment of sara and youssey to enjoy a cooking class. Sara was a naturally excellent cook who made it all look easy as she assembled salads and a superb couscous. But best was the conversation and camaraderie – i learned a lot and had fun and a wonderful lunch too. It was a great introduction to the country, its food and its people.

This was such a wonderful experience. From shopping in the market to prepping all of the food for a wonderful meal. They did such a good job of making everyone in the group feel part of the cooking process. Very accommodating to any food restrictions or allergies while not making those without any miss anything.

Wonderful Tunisian Experience where you learn something! If you are looking for something memorable that is truly Tunisian, I highly recommend this experience! The day started with searching for ingredients for our dish, followed by making the actual dish! This felt like a family experience! I highly recommend this tour if you are looking for an authentic adventure!

We ( my husband, my daughter and I) booked a half day cooking class.
After we had shopped with Busaina all things we needed for our meal, we joined Sarahs house and kitchen.
We enjoyed the cooking class very much… it was so much fun and we learned a lot about Tunisian food and cookery. Sarah and Busaina (sorry, don’t know how to write her name correctly…) were so lovely and kind. All of us felt like a part of a big family. Thank you for this great experience and wonderful day.
